The DVD interface

I simply love simple things that I've learn from school.
I made this one based on the last lesson that, in my mind, was really interesting and lovely.
I chose serif font with old-fashioned style which could somehow describe the meaning of the "short flash".
My idea for design a friendly looking menu to users.

Pharaon

I have studied ablout creating a "fake exploded".
Here... things come suddenly... I remember this was long time ago when I was reading "A beautiful comic books name The Egypt Queen.
The idea of a film about Pharaoh came into my mind.
I used yellow and brown for a formal looking.
An eagle as a simple of strength and freedom.
Also, the sarif old-fashioned typography was used to illustrate the history, the past.

The youth workers

http://blogs.usyd.edu.au/arch/velocity_albert_poster.jpg
Author: Albert Tan.
Tan states the truth in industrial society where young workers are not treated equally.
Low salary, bad protecting service and wrong social justice for them. In his graphic design poster, we see a young boy writing the line "That's unequal.". More than one font is used to describe his idea. Font for "That's" is serif and bold while "unequal" has san-serif font and looks like scripts.
We can read the unity of the elements once put together. The while scale behind the boy, telephone, the paper he's writing on and the text represent for industrial environment.
There's a red map which occupies about 3/4 of the background. It may be a part of Africa map.
His eyes seem to be tired and soulless, and the face is full of worry. Albert might want to raise his voice to defend the young workers force.

Strength of youth

After persuading my brother to cooperate with me, I took some nude pictures of him.
Many difficult things happen that bring a young boy up. I want to illustrate a man picture inside a “still-boy” face.
This work is the combination of wavy lines, smooth area and the rough one. I used smudge tool to create waves like smoke with light green color.
The free background makes the main information stand out. What is more, the color level which is used in the boy body and the dragon yin-yang generate the unity of youth and strength.

Storm Eye

Eye Storm is the name of this posterAgain, with the collage concepts, I have an idea of an eye of the storm. Storm which belongs to Mother Nature is an accepted phenomenon. Whether it is controlled by someone or not, we still live with it.

The eye represents for strongest strength that direct every single step of the storm. Which is within the eye will be damaged or destroyed. I use straight and curvy lines, dark tone color beside the its light one to make it unit and become a complete element which build up the final heavy storm.
We can see a blurry image of a dragon in the top right and bottom left which describes the power behind. Chinese dragon with its gaudy body is the foundation for me to manage the colors of the whole picture. However, I use color level with “dimmer” quality.

Heart and Life

(The picture has been resized for faster uploading)

This is such a busy week with 3 assignments for three courses.

But still I want to make my entries meaningful, have some connect to my real life, and not just like paying back to Maddy...

I have been studied collage and its meaning in class. Therefore, I want to choose this topic for my 2 works.

I have a picture of a heart and a leaf. My idea is strength of life in heart. Hence, I’m now coming up with 2 small pieces, my green leaf will represent for the strength of life which is put inside the heart.

Is it the magic power when life is, in fact, very bit and cruel but people can overcome and live happily? Once heart can beat, everything happens. Once it stops, life stops.

I choose purple and blue colors to talk about sweet and “romantic” mental stuffs, the symbol of heart and leaf when being put together can identify something special.
